What is High Pressure Sodium Lamps/Light Bulbs?
High Pressure Sodium (often called HPS or LU) lamps are a type of HID (High-Intensity Discharge) lamp which is one of the most efficient light sources available today. These lamps are used for general lighting applications where high efficiency and long life are desired while color rendering is not critical. HPS lamps warm up slowly to full brightness over a period of 10 or 15 minutes.
